Digest — 5 Ways To Get Better Right Now

  1. Weaponize the points tiebreaker. Four AL teams sit 8-7 and you own the league-best 4,652 PF. Win% → H2H → Total Points is the tiebreak order, so every head-to-head against Bulls/Sww/Mize is double-weighted — and if it ends in a points tiebreak, you win it. Protect the PF lead by never leaving an empty lineup slot.
  2. Shop before Aug 3 (Mon, 11:59 PM ET). Johnny Bravo (4-11, L6) is done; Homeless and clueless joe's (both 6-9) are one bad week from selling. Rebuilders want picks, prospects, and salary relief — you have 2027/2028 picks and prospect depth (Tong, Abel, Grant Taylor) to spend.
  3. Ride the two-start engine. W +5 / QS +5 / K +1 / INN +1 makes the SP slots the week's biggest lever. Your bench arms outscored two of your actives this period (Imanaga 22.0, Jones 19.5 vs Brown 2.67, Duran 3.33) — check probables every Sunday night.
  4. Two free deadline additions are coming. Acuña ($19) and José Ramírez ($45) are both trending toward late-July returns (details below). That's ~60 combined weekly points of upside nobody has to be traded for — but you must plan who they displace.
  5. Chase the division, not just a berth. AL winner gets a semifinal bye + $150. You're percentage-points up on three teams with 3 periods left after this one (17, 18, 19) — and you still play Mize (P18) and Bulls (P19) head-to-head. Those two weeks decide the bye.

Playoff Race & Seller Watch

Three periods remain after this one (17–19); playoffs start Period 20 and take 6 of 12 (division winners get byes). The contender pack: Jackpot (11-4, NL basically clinched) plus seven teams at 8-7 or 7-8 fighting for five spots.

Two trades to propose this week

Both framed to survive commissioner review: seller receives future value, buyer receives expiring/short-money production.
